In the past few writings, I have reacted to each video or reading separately but for this one I’m going to put them together. I’ve been hearing about big data and the dangers of online surveillance since I was in high school and I still feel as powerless to do anything about it as I did then. There isn’t much I can do to get more regulation on these things and boycotting them isn’t effective either. It does show a lot how the internet has changed since the early net we looked at last week, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that surveillance that has become so dominant now was also happening back then. But then again maybe not.
